Atlantic League Pitcher The First To Throw On Mound From 61 Feet, 6 Inches

In August 2021, Zach Smith of the Lancaster Barnstormers faced James Harris of the York Revolution in a game in Lancaster, PA. This was the first official at-bat of a regular season professional baseball game which had a mound distance longer than the standard 60-feet, 6-inches from home plate.

Here is the video from that first at-bat. Of interest, the announcers mentioned that the previous night in West Virginia there was a previous pitch; but since the game was rained out then the pitching sequence did not count. It is unknown who the pitcher & batter were in that game.
